Ukraine: the share of livestock in agricultural production has declined

Over the 30 years of Ukrainian independence the structure of agricultural production has changed significantly.

In 1991, the shares of livestock and crop production were practically the same – 50.6% and 49.4%, respectively.  These figures are provided in “Ukraine in Figures: 30 Years of Independence”, published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Since 1991, each subsequent decade, the share of livestock in the total volume of agricultural production has been declining.  So, in 2000 it was 38.5%, in 2010 – 36.1% and in 2020 – only 22.7%.
