MAXYM FASTEYEV, Lead Analyst INFAGRO: How the low price on the European milk may impact Ukrainian dairy? Does this open the opportunities for Ukrainian West region dairies to procure quality milk from Poland, Latvia or Lithuania?

In my opinion, Ukrainian processors will not procure raw milk from Europe, at least in the coming years. One reason is that raw milk is a demanding product, it should be delivered to processing facilities in a very short time lapse.

VASYL VINTONYAK, Director INFAGRO: What does the introduction of import duty by Moldova mean for Ukrainian dairy business?

Moldova’s monthly imports of Ukrainian dairy is about 700 t of fresh milk products and about 70-80 t of cheese. Cheap cheese Moldovans can buy in the EU, but they do not have the affordable alternative to our fresh milk dairy. They simply do not have enough raw milk to produce dairy products themselves.
