Against the background of negative economic situation in the country, it cannot be definitely said that the dairy branch is in very bad situation today.
Prices for hard cheeses continue to break the records in Russia. Neither increase of own production, nor decrease of consumer demand stop their growth.
Rates of production are growing on Russian market of cheeses. The prices are reconsidered almost every decade.
French dairy giant Danone has reacted angrily after Russia’s agriculture minister accused it of adulterating its products with cheap ingredients, demanding a retraction of what it called a slanderous claim.
Belarusians hoped for seasonal rise of prices in Russia. In conditions of sanctions it promised good profits for processors and traders. Instead of that they faced decrease of demand and prices for commodity products and losses from weakened RUB.
Situation with demand for dairy products is complicated in Russia – prices are growing, people began to save expenses.
It seems the Russian vendors managed to stop the outlined in the beginning of October tendency of price decline.
Belarusians aim to gain from trade with Russia. Officials, by force of habit, hastened to increase the floor export prices in autumn. But they appeared to be too high in comparison with market prices. Now vendors are compelled to trade generally under “gray” schemes.
Autumn is at the height, but demand for milk powder and butter is not high in Russia, which was not observed last years.
