The market of dry whey in Ukraine continues to rapidly grow, although this is hard to find a logical explanation to that.

It looks like just now all the major customers decided to make stock purchases, but at the same time the number of export transactions has decreased markedly due to the desire of sellers to significantly increase the value of contracts.

In general, the prices of the demineralized whey on the domestic market has already reached the mark of 20000 UAH/t (792 USD/t), although it is not easy to sell the goods at this price. Most manufacturers are ready to sell large shipments for 19500-19800 UAH/t (772-784 USD/t). Some traders even claim that they can sell the products for more than 22000 UAH/t (871 USD/t). The market value of the standard dry whey begins with the start mark of 18000 UAH/t (712 USD/t).

Due to the high price of whey on the domestic market, traders’ offers for export sales are at about 700 USD/t, and some operators agree to pay this money.

It should be noted that the volume of exports has slightly declined. In particular, the last month Ukraine exported 2.3 thousand tonnes  of whey, which is almost a quarter less than at the same time last year.

For the second month in a row the biggest share of Ukrainian whey goes to China.  In July, almost half of all the whey exports was made to this country.
