Eckhard Heuser, General Director of the Dairy Industry Association (Milchindustrie-Verband, MIV), said that German dairies provided 240,000 euros under the Aktion Deutschland Hilft for immediate humanitarian aid in the war zone in Ukraine.
In Berlin, on the occasion of the transfer of the aid, Eckhard Heuser stressed the need for active cooperation of German dairies. The initiative is also supported by donations of goods by many humanitarian organizations.
Harald Löhlein, a member of the supervisory board of Aktion Deutschland Hilft, thanked on behalf of the organization for its assistance and said that it was delivered to those who need it in Ukraine.
The Dairy Industry Association (Milchindustrie-Verband eV, MIV) represents about 90 highly efficient private, cooperative and international companies. With an annual turnover of about 27 billion euros, the dairy industry is the largest in the German food industry.
