State Statistic Committee shows worsened figures in dairy farming, nevertheless milk yields are higher than a year ago.

For January-May the production of milk made 4268 ths t (already without the Crimean production), which was 1.5% more in comparison with last year’s figure. Livestock of cows is still reduced. There were 2467 ths heads in all categories of farms by the beginning of summer, down 1.9% than a year ago.

Agricultural enterprises reduced the number of cows by 3.3% to 553 ths heads, and for January-May they increased production of milk by 5.2% to 1092 ths t.

State Statistics Committee believes that production per cow grows more slowly in households. At the time when number of cows declined 1.5% to 1914 ths heads, production of milk remained at almost last year’s level (3169 ths t for January-May).
