In Jan-Jun 2016 milk production in agricultural enterprises has increased in most regions of Ukraine. Households reduced the milk output – INFAGRO.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, total milk production in Ukraine in the first half of the year has decreased by 1.3% (to the first half of 2015). This reduction was due to the decrease in milk production in households (- 2.7%). In agricultural enterprises it even increased (+ 2.9%). The most significant rate of growth in this category of manufacturers was in Kirovograds’ka oblast, + 14.9%. Generally, the growth in milk production in this category showed 18 oblasts of Ukraine.

Only 5 oblasts have shown the milk output increase (or sustained production) in the category of households. The highest indicator (+ 2.5%) is observed in Khmelnits’ka oblast – the only one where the increase in households was more than that in agricultural enterprises (+ 0.1%).

Totally, in Jan-Jun 2016 there were produced 5106.5 thousand tonnes of milk in Ukraine.
The number of cows has shrunk about the same rate both in agricultural enterprises (-3.3%) and in households (-3.5%).
