Danone confirmed its plans to invest into Russia

Danone Russia Company Group has completed the first stage of the Yalutorovsk dairy plant’s reconstruction; the reconstruction process included the construction of the modern curd-manufacturing line.

At this line Prostokvashino cottage cheese is manufactured, and in the second half of 2015 the production of Danissimo cream yogurts will be launched there, too.

The investment project of Yalutorovsk plant’s reconstruction was launched in March 2013. The amount of investments totals at 2.8 billion rubles ($42.5 million). In the framework of the reconstruction project every facility of the plant is going to be modernized.

At the moment main manufacturing building is fully reconstructed, new modern production facilities and warehouses have been built; machinery used to produce Danone cream yogurts and Prostokvashino cottage cheese has been installed. The construction of the finished products’ storage area with automatic temperature control has been completed.

Today 1.4 billion rubles ($21.3 million) have been invested into the project. Soon the reconstruction of the milk receiving room, milk storage and milk pre-pasteurization areas, and facilities for cream and skimmed milk storage is going to begin.

“Plant’s reconstruction in Yalutorovsk confirms Danone’s intention to continue developing and investing in Russia. Our purpose is to further improve the quality and environmental friendliness of our products. Due to the support provided by Tyumen region’s authorities, the dairy industry of the region is growing rapidly; we are sure that working together we’ll be able to move to the new level of production, which will allow us creating new jobs and supplying the population with fresh and healthy dairy products,” Bernard Ducros, the Director General of Danone Russia Company Group noted.

After the reconstruction is completed, the plant’s capacities will increase 40% and reach up to 1,000 tons of processed milk a day.
