In October, raw milk market of Ukraine entered real autumn season. Production is decreasing and the prices are growing.

Despite Russian ban and decreased production of cheeses in comparison with previous year, a shortage of raw milk is felt.

Milk production is at level of previous year: for nine months all categories of farms produced 8 852.2 ths tonnes of milk which was 0.7% more than in Jan-Sept 2013.

At the same monthly production was lower than in September 2013.

Number of cows also decreased: as of October 1 it made 2.44 mio heads, 2.3% lower than a year ago.

Deliveries for processing in Jan-Sept were 3.9% increased in comparison with the same period of 2013, but generally due to volumes delivered in first half of the year.
