Ukrainian fresh dairy processors continue to raise prices

The situation becomes complicated on the market of fresh milk products. Purchasing capacity of Ukrainians is declining. Additionally a very hot weather and season of mass holidays hamper activity of sales.

It is not possible to renew production volumes after essential decline in the beginning of summer. Nevertheless, the situation is better for producers of fresh milk products than for cheese makers. They probably have profits, considering gradual increase of the prices.

In the middle of August leading producers offered in trade: 2.5% milk in cheap pouches at UAH 7.7-8.8/l, 2.5% kefir – at UAH 9.0-10.0/l, sour cream (15%) – at UAH 19-21/kg, curd (9%) – at UAH 43-47/kg.

Weakening of the UAH did not promote an increase of export of fresh milk products. Demand was very weak. In July the country exported only 800t of the products (incl. a half of the volume – UHT-milk).

Import was also minimized. Already a few months it is delivered only about 500 t of the products, which is equal to volume of production of small regional plant.

Tendencies in foreign trade will not change in the near future.
