Though agricultural producers complain of low prices for milk, demanding to fix their high minimal level, nevertheless its production grows this year. 

According to State Statistic Committee, 5474 ths t of milk were produced in Ukraine in the first half of the year, which was 1.2% more in comparison with the same period in 2013.

Agricultural enterprises increased the volume by 5% to 1346 ths t, despite a decrease of cow numbers by 4.1% to 550 ths heads.

In households the number of cows was reduced by 1.4% in comparison with a year ago, to 1915 ths heads, and in January-June the production of milk in this category of farms remained at last year’s level.
