Belarusian dairy plants are buying European milk actively

There are no reasons to complain of situation in dairy branch for Byelorussians, though still a few months ago it was cardinally opposite.

Belarus actively increases export to Russia. In August external sales of fresh milk products grew by 1.9 times, cheeses – by 1.5 times, butter – by 1.3 times. Old stocks were sold. There are no surpluses of milk for increase of processing.

Therefore milk imported from the European Union is already actively used for further processing/repacking and sale to Russia. Such scheme is legal and may bring good profits as milk becomes cheaper in Europe, and the prices grow in Russia.

Byelorussians delivered about 2.7 ths tonnes of milk and cream from Poland and Lithuania in August. The volume will be even higher in September, after all schemes and contacts are just established, and increase of milk production is not expected in Belarus in the near future.
