The Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam is a joint declaration signed by IDF and FAO on 19 October 2016 in Rotterdam. The Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam describes the crucial role dairy plays in the world in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The Declaration has already been signed by 20 IDF National Committees, representing 45% of global milk production. Those countries signed the Declaration because it provides a strong endorsement for the dairy sector – economic importance, nutritional value, livelihood support. For example, it was calculated that 1 billion of households directly or indirectly obtain their income from dairy. It also enables the sector to describe why sustainable development is important whilst recognizing that like all other sectors it must become more sustainable. This provides more balance to arguments and rather than a position of moving from bad to good, it enables the sector to consider continuous improvement in the context of moving from good to better.
This is why the Declaration will help you to open doors to markets, consumers and profits, but also to government bodies and NGO’s.
Joining the Dairy Declaration of Rotterdam could help the Ukrainian dairy sector to make itself more visible in the international dairy community!
