The European integration of the Ukrainian dairy sector is critical for the further development of the industry and the country’s economy as a whole. Ukraine’s path to EU membership is inevitable. Therefore, the dairy industry must demonstrate rapid transformation and compliance with European requirements for joining the EU common market.

An essential step in this direction was the initiative to create a Roadmap for the Integration of Ukraine’s Dairy Sector into the EU. This document is not just a formality but a strategic action plan that will help coordinate the efforts of businesses and the state to adopt the industry to high European standards of quality, food safety, veterinary medicine, ecology, and other important aspects. Thanks to this coordination, chaotic changes can be avoided, and Ukrainian dairy products will become more competitive in the pan-European market.

European integration opens up prospects for attracting investment, creating new jobs and developing high-tech milk processing with added value, which is especially relevant in the context of modern challenges, including war and economic instability.

Ukrainian dairy producers have long focused on European markets, but cooperation with the EU opens up new prospects for growth, improving product quality, and expanding export opportunities. In addition, in 2024, about 30% of Ukraine’s exported dairy products were to EU countries, among which Poland, Bulgaria, and the Baltic countries are the primary consumers. Implementation and compliance with requirements and legislation in general is the best way to ensure stable EU trade preferences (until Ukraine’s membership).

In summary, the European integration of Ukraine’s dairy sector is a key factor in ensuring the sustainable development of the industry, increasing its competitiveness in the global market, and strengthening the country’s economic security. It provides not only economic benefits but also increases business standards of quality, environmental friendliness, and social responsibility.

The Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine and the analytical agency Infagro invite interested producers and processors of milk to participate in the event, where the following issues will be considered:
