The situation in the dry whey market is not very promising for the producers. At the end of June whey became cheaper both on the domestic market and for exports.

The internal price has fallen due to the increase of supply. A week ago demineralized whey could be easily sold for the wholesale price 27.5 thousand UAH/t, now there are offers of even below 26 thousand UAH/t. Some buyers offer as low as 24 thousand UAH/t for standard whey.

Traders explain the decline in prices of external demand by large volumes of now cheap European and US whey on the market. If a week ago sellers doubted whether it was worth selling the “demi” whey at 900 USD/t, now they are receiving traders’ requests for the product priced not higher than 850 USD/t.

It is quite difficult to predict the price trend in the whey market, but most likely in July whey producers will still have to sell it cheaper.
