NewsEnd of September was quite stressful for milk market of Ukraine. Processors postponed revision of prices, despite shortage of milk.
Demand for raw milk was increased at the end of the month due to growth of domestic prices for milk powder and especially for butter, therefore milk prices will grow by average UAH 0.20 from October 1 all over the country.
Seasonal decrease in milk production also affects the situation, therefore even weak consumer activity does not considerably influence the balance.
According to estimations, today the milk shortage makes about a few hundreds tons of milk a day, which is not critical against the total processing volume (about 11 000 t/day). On the other hand, in conditions of absence of communication between participants of the market, even such deficiency can cause along wave of price rise.
